Nothing is lost in translation....
It's wonderful, amazing, touching, and it makes it all worthwhile........ When a group of kids come into our little shop and gawp in disbelief, saying 'wow......', we try and stock as many items you don't necessarily find on the high street as we can (spending a lot of time trying to source cool items), and the 'mainstream items' we do stock we try to undercut the chains as best we can. But it's really special when we get visitors from East Asia in the shop, they giggle and smile, and say our shop reminds them of home :)............ An English chap said the same thing the other week, he loved to go to Japan, and said Tokyo was full of little shops like ours, 'little treasure troves of delight' - :).............. Maybe toys are the missing link, maybe they provide a relief from the seemingly endless 'bad news' and 'daily treadmill' , whatever your age you can find comfort in the child within yourself. Nearly half of all Uglydolls sold are for people in the 20 -30+ age group, we guess sometimes toys are wasted on kids, we guess sometimes even though we live in different cultures and in different times (Crazy Bones started life 1,000's of years ago!!) we're looking to reclaim the child in ourselves, and we're looking to give our children some special memories to cling onto through their journey.........
